Cutter, when did you meet my first wife? I understand Pirates fans are frustrated but Huntingdon can't saw sawdust. He's doing the right things now and the only choices we have are to give his plan time or keep complaining. I think complaining is a waste of time but obviously everyone doesn't. I know there are some people I talk to who will be absolutely devastated when the Pirates win because they'll have nothing left to talk about.

What does the prior 15 years have to do with the last two. Its like blameing your 2nd wife because your first wife was a b***h There was no remodeling going on in the prievious 15yrs. It was more like bringing in old fixtures to replace old fixtures. You guys complain that you want to win NOW. The only way they could quick fix it was to go out and buy a whole new pitching staff(except for a few) resign Bay and Nady,Sanchez,Wilson, buy a new 1st basemen and 3rd basemen. In the mean time rebuild the farm system in one fell swoope, sign Alvarez for 6mil!! Tell me how many top free agent pitchers would be willing to sign with the Pirates ? and that goes for position players too! They woud have to spend for all of those pieces more then the Yankees did and that was 500 mill. Come down from that dream world you guys live in and look at reality for a change.

it doesn't take 17 years to remodel a home. its the same excuse management has used for 17 years, build the farm system. the owners do not care about the team winning, its about making the most profit they can make. they know 1.5 million fans will buy tickets every year.even if you are to believe what they say, it will be 2012 or 2013 before everyone will be major league ready. some of the players playing in the majors today or next year will be arbitration eligible. lets see how many of them will be with the team?

lancem, I know its frustrating and I don't mean to be a spokesman for the Pirates but I for one believe in what they are doing. It reminds me of when your in the middle of remodling your house and you have to live in the mess while the work is going on. You just have to hope that it is worth the trouble.

cutter, every trade the pirates make are for young minor league players that they have to develope.last year the outfield of the future was McClouth, McCutchen and Tabata after they traded Nady. after the Bay trade it was Moss in the mix this year after McClouth was traded its now Hernandez in the mix and after Morgan its now Milledge. how many outfield positions do they have?

lancem, what talent that we developed did we give up? The Pirates didn't develop Wilson, Sanchez and LaRoche and they are not gone yet. Bay was the best talent we traded. Morgan and McLouth may turn out to be watershed trades. If Milledge and C.Morton fullfill their promise We may have 2/3 of our future outfield with McCutchen and Milledge and if he continues the way he started, an ace of the staff in Morton and within two years i'll bet Morgan and McLouth will be 4th outfielders somewhere.

Serg,as I said a few posts earlier I have had it with Moss. Personally I think he is a bust. I just said what I think was the reasoning behind the moves. If the Hinskie trade was all about a salary dump they could have just sent him to the Yankees and not have taken any players in return and saved another 400k.

salazar is not in the pirates plans at all, jones is someone they took to fill out their triple a team and he played beyond what they expected.LaRoche, Wilson and Sanchez wll not be on the team in 2010. it comes a time when they have to stop using the excuse that they are building a farm system, something we have heard for a few years now and start keeping the talent the develope.

GW,I am not saying I have more knowledge then you but as I posted on another story I don't think the Morgan and Hinskie trades were mainly about acquiring talent. I think they were about clearing space so that they could find out about Moss,Young,Jones,Pearce and Salazar. Morgan and Hinskie were taking away playing time from these players. If they get something out of Milledge fine ,if not they have a player in AAA ball that isn't hurting anybody in Pitt.

The Pirates keep adding younger bodies to the minor league system. If these bodies are more talented than what was given up, someone with more knowledge than I on minor league talent needs to weight in. Any one care to comment on the talent being assembled via todays trades?

What kind of world are we living in when they blank out a common four letter word that starts with a "C" ends in a "E" and has an "OM" in the middle??

As I was saying..... It is time for the Brandon Moss Experiment to be over with. People on other message boards have a love affair with this guy****e on Morgan has more HR then this bust. It is time to quit fooling with these guys. Moss was given a fair shot . Now he is taking bats away from other players who need to prove themselves.

Adam LaRoche is a very nice guy that is generally good to the fans he meets. That is the extent of his value to the Pirates. He is an average fielder. As it turns out is more of a walk producer than hitter. He needs to be driving runs with guys on base..period...no excuses because that is the roll he was hired for and the. job he accepted. He needs to produce 100 RBIS and have 25+ Hrs a year ..especially taking advantage of teh short porch at PNC Park. At some point he needs to take ownership and accept accountability fot not producing at the plate. We would be much better off putting a Pearce at first or better yet DOUMIT ( upon his return). We need to reduce teh runners LOB Honestly I was excited about AL joining the team. A little let down now. I am not sure if he was hitting between Bonds and Pujols that he could be consistent.

When the Pirates got Laroche from the Braves I was pretty excited to get a young power hitting first baseman. I'm just dissapointed he hasn't developed any more. One would hope with time he would have developed a little more plate discipline and consistency. I agree with you Cutter and that he projects better in the 6th spot rather than getting the responsibility of the major run producer. I think all Pirates fans are growing tired of him not producing in crucial situations. Too many strike outs and double plays for a guy who only has 9 or 10 homeruns. I'm not sure what kind of trade value we will get out of Laroche, but I would be shocked if no deal was made. I just hope Pearce can step up his game. This may be his last chance to prove he can be a productive major league. Lets hope he doesn't pull a Bixler.
